The LOC Merino Long-Johns are made of the highest quality Merino Wool. And like all other products we develop and make, both design and materials are thoroughly tested in real life situations to be used specifically in our waders (but obviously you can use them in other waders and outdoor activities as well).

The Merino Wools soft, moisture wicking, insulating, odour-resistant, temperature-regulating, breathable and elastic qualities are well documented and people from around the world use them in all kinds of outdoor activities. This really is nature's own high-tech material.

Our Long-Johns are made of 98% of the finest and softest Merino wool (17,5 micron), mixed with 2% Elastane® and weaved into a stretchy but very strong and durable fabric. The blend of Merino Wool and Elastane® is the perfect mix of materials for both warmth and outstanding wicking capabilities.

Origin: Our Merino wool fabric is made in Sweden by a small, family owned factory dating back to 1965. To be able to make super high quality Merino products "close to home" makes us really proud.

Remember: A pair of Merino Long-Johns (and underwear), with great wicking capabilities, is a must-have if you own a pair of LOC Waders. The merino wool undergarment will make sure you get the most out of your waders in terms of warmth, ventilation and comfort.

How to take care of your Merino Long-Johns

Wool truly is an amazing material. Its resistance to dirt and bacteria is well documented. This is why you don't have to wash it as often as you would wash other fabrics. After using it for a while, just hang it out in the fresh air and after a while it is as good as newly washed. You basically don't have to wash it until it gets dirty. Remember: if you wash Merino Wool fabric to often you reduce the natural properties of the wool. If possible, use a clothes bag that will protect the Wool fabric in the machine.
  • Wash on the wool cycle on the washing machine (max heat 30-40 degrees Celsius)
  • If you have the opportunity use detergent made specially for wool clothes. If you don't have wool detergent, use a mild environmentally certified detergent without enzymes and a neutral PH value.
  • Don't use bleach.
  • Do not use fabric softeners. It is bad for the environment and it reduces the performance of the fabric. Mostly it reduces wicking properties and prolongs drying time.
  • Do not tumble dry, again bad for the environment and since wool is sensitive of heat it's a bad idea.

Note: The price is set without VAT/TAX for countries not members in the EU:

Import duty and national or State Tax/Sales Tax/VAT, may be added for customers living in countries outside of the European Union.
